About — zUnits
zUnits is a set of fast, free online unit converters for length, weight, temperature, volume, and area, available in English, Arabic, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The site is built to be light and simple: pages load in a single request, work on any device, and keep working offline after your first visit.
Terms
zUnits is free to use for any personal or commercial purpose.
The conversion results are provided for general information. We work hard to keep the factors exact, but we give no warranty, and you should double-check any value used for engineering, medical, legal, or commercial decisions.
Privacy
In short. You can use zUnits without an account, and we never ask for your name or email. The only thing you send us on purpose is a feedback message, if you choose to write one.
Stored in your browser. To provide fast loading speeds and offline functionality, pages and conversion data may be saved in your browser's local cache or service worker storage. All such data remains strictly on your local device, is never transmitted to our servers, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
Monitoring. To find bugs and slow pages, each page reports two things to our own server: script errors on the page, and the shape of values the converter couldn't read. A shape replaces every digit with 9 and every letter with a, so "12,5 km" is sent as "99,9 aa", never the value itself. With each report we keep the page, its language, the browser and operating system family, the device type and a rough screen-size group. We don't store your IP address or full browser details, and this monitoring sets no cookies. When the converter answers without JavaScript, our server also keeps a short log of the page, the units and the input shape. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page speed and visits, without cookies and without storing your IP address.
Feedback. If you send feedback, we store what you picked, what you wrote, the page you came from, its language, the time, and the browser, operating system and device type. We don't ask for or store your email or IP address. A copy is emailed to us. Please don't put personal details in your message.
Spam check. The feedback page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam. It checks your browser without reading your message, and may set a cookie on Cloudflare's own domain for this check only. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
How long, and who can see it. Feedback messages and their email copies are deleted after 3 months, and backups are gone within about 4 months. Monitoring data is kept for at most 3 months, and server logs for 7 days. Cloudflare Web Analytics keeps detailed data for 7 days and a reduced summary after that. Only the site owner can read any of this. It's all held by Cloudflare, our hosting provider; feedback is stored in the European Union. We don't sell or share it. Cloudflare and Turnstile see your IP address briefly to deliver pages, limit abuse and run the spam check; zUnits itself doesn't keep it.
Removing a message. To have a message deleted, write to info@zunits.com with its text and roughly when you sent it. We don't know who sent what, so we find it by its text, and delete it within 30 days.
Ads. zUnits shows ads from Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show and measure ads. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
